I know what I saw that late evening in June 1978 while driving through the Nevada desert with my parents and my brother.

That single ball of light, that seemed to have no mass, appeared in my rearview mirror and hung back about a 1/4 mile or so. Then in a blink of an eye came right up to within a few car lengths. It stayed there for a few seconds, went 90 degrees straight up, flew over my car and drop straight down, 90 degrees, in front of the car a few car lengths. A few seconds later it went left, again at 90 degrees, out into the desert, hovered for a few seconds, and then went straight up and was gone.

The light was unwavering and steady. Its intensity was the same at 1/4 mile as it was within a few yards. I could not see any mass or shape to a vehicle body that would have a light mounted on it.

That’s a true story. My brother, who posts here as HuskyEd can verify.

Had an experience about the same time period, maybe it was 1977. It was an actual craft, viewed at the same time as my wife, sister and BIL. People ask why no pics, let me try and explain. When encountering the view of a UFO, something beyond explanation, a person become star struck, no pun intended. You become so involved in the viewing, the thought of recording it never comes to mind. When it is over, then you think about why you didn’t.
