I liked the Everly Brothers et al and then drifted into "Surf music". Not until the 60's R&R got going with Jefferson Airplane, Doors, etc. did I start getting interested in that.

Never had any interest in the Beatles.

Of course, I had no radio to listen to music. Would buy a 45 of something I heard bits of, and wait until the step-monster was away to play it on the family stereo,or whatever that monolith was.

I enjoyed the Everly Brothers because my two older sisters were into music, so I got a good education of the music of the 50’s. I was 10 in 1957. My second oldest sister bought one of the first stereo record consoles for our house.
