Do you own an old Muscle Car?
What's the story?
What is it?
Where did you find it?
Does it run?
Will it ever run?
Yes, that may be so, but the next time you ride with me, I’ll be gentle!
I PROMISE!
Yeah...that’s what they *all* say.
It was like being in a roadrunner cartoon....I never saw cornfields fly by so fast! LOL
Good times.
Heh. Could be her. The white knuckles, a dead give-a-way.
FWIW, I think the dashboard on SG’s goat, still have the imprint of my fingernails digging into it. :)
LOL!
And why would I want to remove the imprint of your fingernails?
But, it is true!
And, when the dust settled, we all had a great laugh!
IIRC, you WERE a willing participant!
Do you own a Muscle car? Yes.
What is it? 1969 Mustang Mach I, 428, SCJ (Super Cobrajet), Drag-Pack option, 4-speed Toploader, 3.90 Traction Lock rearend. 57,000 miles.
Whats the story? Where did you find it? The guy I bought it from had found it in a barn. It had a broken connecting rod. He almost sold it for parts but decided to bring it back to life. I found the car for sale in Mustang Monthly magazine. Turns out he only lived 10 miles from me. I was the first to call him and arranged to see him early the next morning. Wrote him a check on the spot.
Does it run? Oh yes!! Does it ever!! Stopping, however, is an adventure since it only has drum brakes.
I call it The Beast.
It spends most of its time in the garage. Im afraid to drive it with all the distracted drivers out there.
Yes, that's a favorite in our house!
No, it doesn't run. I stored it in north-central Texas while I was in MA. Guy who was supposed to fire it up and run it occasionally lost the keys, didn't inform me -- and the 270 HP 273CI V8 is now "locked up... :-(
After 52 years, every bit of plastic (including wiring insulation) needs replacing. Lots of work ahead...
My first car was a 1966 Chevelle SS with a 325 hp 396 engine with a four speed. Traded it for another Chevelle with a tame 350 and more creature comforts.
*IIRC, you WERE a willing participant!*
Was that B4 or after the ‘Vulin & *nameless* aged malt?
Is your little steak house still there?
nah, nah...just knocking. The 383 was rebuilt and lived to fight another day.My 2nd rebuild, the 1st was in a 1960 Valiant didn’t turn out as well.
Nice!
Mine’s a ‘69 Fastback that the PO raced in the 1990’s. When I found it the car had been sitting under a tarp on the side of his house for ten years. Fortunately he had stripped the interior out of it because it would have all been rotted away.
It took me about 4 hours of changing fluids and updating parts to make it run and I’ve been driving it all summer.
Plans this winter are to replace two floor panels and rebuild the doors to 1970 specs (bolt-in glass). Next year I’m going to trade out the 4.11 Detroit Locker rear axle for something a little less brutal. All in all she’s a rompin, stompin machine!
I call her “Bad Manners” LOL
LOL! Before, during and after!
I believe so - haven’t been there in few years.
67 GTO, nice...
