This whole thing struck me as awfully ambitious for one sickly looking 64 year old to do alone.
With the FBI and Armed Torch Force involved, we may never know the truth.

PADDOCK IS THE SUSPECT AT THIS POINT AND HE IS IN THEIR CUSTODY. You never heard of someone’s body being in custody of law enforcement?
It’s a common term.
He was saying hypothetically IF there is prosecutions there will be defense attorney involved and so they want to make sure everything was done methodically and properly as far as collecting evidence etc.
I’m sure he can’t stand up there and rule out anyone else being involved in the planning stage of this mass murder. Maybe he’s talking about good old Marilou? Maybe Paddock had illegal guns and the supplier is known and is gonna catch a case? Who knows who could be charged as an accessory at this point. It’s always wise in such a high profile investigation to make sure they take their time and do it right. Clearly they found something that makes them think he was radicalized.
