Though with extended playoffs nowadays, the off season is shorter than in the past. The world series will end on November 1st if it goes the full 7 games. Barely 3 1/2 months later is when pitchers and catchers report.

Dittos to all of that! Best day of the year: ‘Pitchers and catchers report’ day! Worst day of the year: The day following the last World Series game, knowing no MLB until spring training!
