My girlfriend is Filipino and says that a lot of Filipinos work in the Middle East, especially in the swankier places. They are typically hired for domestic work, such as maids.

My girlfriend's nephew used to work in Saudi Arabia. So it is not odd that Danley might have been in Dubai to visit relatives. This does not necessarily imply some sinister Muslim connection.
