Back then TV was an unifier because it had to be. Advertisers had to pay for a broad audience. They had no choice.
Now media’s divisive so advertisers can target specific audiences.

Back then TV was an unifier because it had to be Back then, TV was primarily an entertainment media rather than an indoctrination vehicle. Entertainers still respected their audience, so they generally stuck with entertaining us.
