My whole family can trace military service and defense of our flag and this nation to Bunker Hill. My Father served during Korea. My sister retired an Air Force Major. My father-in-law fought in Vietnam. My Brother-in-law served honorably in the ‘80s and never saw a day of combat and he too was buried under that flag. Likewise I also served in the ‘80s, giving up time that others used to go to college and giving up parts of my body through injury. After 6 years in the Infantry, I was put out with knee and neck injuries that bother me even today. I have also put in my will the very specific request that I be buried under that flag.
Some have given all, all that served gave some.
Those that didn’t sacrifice ANYTHING now judge that same flag as being unworthy of a moment of stillness. To them I say begone and depart from us. We desire neither your counsel nor your countenance.
Having served as long as you have a DD214 you will get a full Military funeral. When my BIL at 91 died the VFW held the service, he was WW2 Plank owner of the 2nd Lady Lexington. His daughter wanted a celebration, not a funeral. And that is what they had. But didn’t neglect his Military service. She is a LIBERAL HOLLYWOOD WEIRDO, married to 1 too. But in this case she did her dad proud.
Thank you for that service. All my relatives who served and are still serving despise what the NFL is doing. Even my die hard sports nut husband who is a Ret. SCPO of 20 yrs, has stopped watching, now it’s college ball till they act out. That and NASCAR. He’s 77, and a life long sports nut as far as watching goes. He’s not into the clothing thing. For him that is Navy SCPO stuff.
I have my own trials with family what little there is of it. And had Trust funds set up, instead of a Will which can be challenged, a Trust can’t. I disowned my youngest sister when she partied while we were burying our only brother.
