“DPRK foreign minister alleges North Korea could do an atmospheric test soon.”

And if they do, it should be made clear to NK beforehand that the War is on.

I understand why they want to do this test over the Pacific -- apparently an earlier test over their own country set off an EMP which took down their entire grid:

Why? To scare ‘em off? And then they call our bluff?

That’s what I’m starting to think. Suddenly, this idiot wants to go to war as soon as Trump is in?

Also, it’s starting to make me reconsider 9-11.

If the people of both coasts like beef, pork, or chicken as part of their diet; then, the heart of the country must continue a grain harvest to feed the livestock. Wish to afford driving an automobile? Without the oil and gas found within the expanse between the coasts, fuel will become an exorbitant luxury. Electricity upon the far shores likewise would be rationed.

The east coast would skirt famine. The west coast would experience balkanized warfare. Flyover country will keep Hank Jr. close to heart, and a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Perhaps we can “spoof” it so that it detonates shortly after liftoff - say at 5’000 feet AGL.

That would be a good test, you think?

Good idea but only the missile would blow up. The nuke wouldn’t detonate.

If we can “spoof” the missile into exploding, perhaps we can also “spoof” the nuke?

“Well, if they blasted one just off their coast, then they are going to get China and Russia”

Why did you omit Japan? Just wondering.

I remember reading that years ago, but cannot currently find any info on the internet of that occurrence.

Apparently in Post Number 9 Steely Tom cited the same development, Starfish Prime in 1962.

I’m not on my computer right now, I’m driving, but a search on that would probably turn of lots of stuff.

What is worrisome about Starfish Prime is that it caused electrical damage in Hawaii in the pre-electric age. Imagine the catastrophic damage it would cause today.

Hawaii had electricity then.
