Looking for opinions on the new documentary on the Vietnam War that aired on PBS this evening.
Accurate?
Best parody of Ken Burns ever:

.
You’re entitled to an opinion.
Did you see it? It’s on Netflix. It’s a public school history class standard now.
Burns also produced a documentary on Jack Johnson, the great heavyweight boxer. I highly recommend it.
He’s a leftist puke. I don’t need to be lectured about Vietnam from leftist pukes. My sock drawer needs some attention.
Not directly related to the documentary, but highly recommended reading:

I think so. heck. I remember watching a on black and white tv.
French Imperialism BAD
US Imperialism BAD
Communist Imperialism GOOD!
OMGGGGGG..too funny!!!...so true. I saw him interviewed right after Trump won, sounded and looked like he was having a nervous breakdown. You just know he’s frothing at the mouth to do the “Trump Years”..if the lunatic survives Donald. Heh Heh.
If we lost the Vietnam war, then the Viet Cong paid us to rebuild our society?
they just love the “WE LOST..WE LOST..WE LOST” mantra. Pure scum.
Burns made his bones with “The Civil War” many years ago. Everybody thought it was great. Today, the American equivalent of the Taliban is destroying any and all monuments commemorating anyone from the losing side. Has anyone heard from Mr. Civil War? That’s all you need to know about how fair and balanced this self-aggrandizing project is gonna be.
I agree, considering it’s Ken Burns and PBS it’s almost guaranteed to be America bashing.
Today we have foreign funded Islamic colonies in the West. the mosques are not locally funded, they are funded by foreign governments.
Apparently the separation of church and state does not extend to foreign states operating in America.
i tried many times to watch his “Civil War”..just couldn’t get into it. His “Baseball” series was very good..only because i love baseball..
having seen PBS cheer the SLA and Weather Underground and Black Panthers and not do much to discuss the influence of the Soviets in American politics, media, and culture, I don’t expect ANY objectivity in this rehash of 60 year old history.
IIRC, it was "Vietnam: A History" based on the Stanley Karnow book. I remember watching it in 1982/1983.
I liked it very much, but my bias meter had yet to be developed, so I don't recall if it was biased one way or the other.
You can’t read one book or watch one documentary and really understand any historical event. You will have an understanding of one person’s view.
You really have to commit to reading at least 4-5 books from different viewpoints before you really can begin to formulate your own understanding as to what really happened. For me, watching only one is a waste of time.
For them, it’s WE WON, WE WON, WE WON!! Uncle Ho would be proud.
