The distressed callers have illnesses that require power to support their portable devices or refrigerators for their medication.
South Florida, we need your help!
The NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 phone bank received a handful of calls from local residents in critical situations, many of which are people with medical conditions who are unable to get to a shelter. The distressed callers have illnesses that require power to support their portable devices or refrigerators for their medication.
We are calling on South Floridians to adopt a person in need. If you have a generator and are willing to help someone in the area codes 33186, 33027, 33127, 33162, 33054, 33060, 33130, or 33021, send us an email to webteam@nbcmiami.com.
Also, if you have any useful information that may benefit others during or after Hurricane Irma, please let us know.
I survived a prolonged period after Katrina without my CPAP and insulin.
I can mail u a spare cpap if tha happens again
Do y’all have Zello on your phones? There is a live Hurricane Irma channel.
It wasn’t the CPAP, it was the lack of electricity. We were without power in Biloxi for a very long time.
This sounds to me suspiciously like newspeak for “adopt an illegal alien family and open your home to them”, judging by the large populations of them seen constantly in MD offices and emergency rooms throughout the U.S. We have enough problems keeping our dogs safe and healthy through inclement weather and they will always be our top priority. Border jumpers and their spawn can go to hell.
a stranger is a friend you haven’t met yet .... say your prayers... keep one eye open...
I believe Canada and California is open to illegal refugees.
Wonder if Mexico will host any dreamers?
Exactly. I wonder how many illegals will be opening their doors for citizens?
To me it sounds like their idea is to loan them the generator and pray you get it back.
