I was wondering if any fellow FREEPERS happened to catch it. My subtitle would be "The Heros and the Hacks". There were a lot of the usual suspects including Leon "How did you ever get above the level of a peon?" Panetta and Richard Clark whom I am amazed that he could show his face in public. But there was also the Matthew Bashir and Frank Pellagrino who were on the trail of KSM.
These guys show genuine remorse. How about the guys who didn't give them the authority to track KSM down?
Also they try to blame Bush as much as possible for 9-11. "We gave him a daily briefing..." Doesn't the president get one of those DAILY? Bottom line, they didn't suggest anything that would have helped. The forming of the DHS arguable should have been done before the attacks, and that might have helped, but that is my observation, nobody in this special mentioned that.
Anyhoo, it was I thought the best special on this topic to date and well worth watching if you like this topic.

The show was a liberal rehash of Rumsfeld pushing for the Iraq war.
Did it cover the role of Jamie Gorelick as a major cause of intelligence failure?
Ya know, the woman who helped cause 911 by building “ wall” between intel agencies and law enforcement to protect Bill Clinton from impeachment - took a $26 million “ bonus” from Fanny Mae before the govt financial collapse - and who now is Ivanka Trump’s “ ethics advisor” ?

The DHS should never have been created. The FBI was responsible for knowing about the facts and they dropped the ball. There should have been FBI heads rolling and those in charge should have been replaced.
Also, everything was over-reaction that gave us the TSA airport procedures and pervert agents we now have in place.
I’d love go return to the pre-911 airport procedures. They’ve never caught a single terrorist, so why do they continue to exist and abuse the flying public?
I’m a 9/11 survivor and rescue/recovery worker. Richard Clarke is a lying sack of sh**. Cofer Black and Mike Scheuer knew what was going on and they tried to warn the Clinton Admin and got blown off. John O’Neill was a former FBI agent and the Head of security for the WTC for the Port Authority. He knew what would happen, and paid for it with his life.
Ramzi Yousef was flown back into NYC for arraignment after his capture, when the agent who was escorting him, pointed out the WTC to him while in the air and told him the building were still standing, Yousef replied “Not for long”, that agent reported that up the chain.
Finally, the author of the “wall memo” prohibiting communication between the CIA and FBI was Jamie Gorelick, the Deputy AGUSA under Clinton. When the Clinton’s got to pick their person to serve on the 9/11 commission, they chose Gorelick, to avoid her having to answer questions. So when they claim the CIA refused to share information with the FBI, they are lying. The Agency and Bureau were not permitted to share information, because of Gorelick’s memo.
It was a part of Bill Clinton's Neuterization of Law Enforcement / Intelligence to cover his own crooked ass. Putting Janet Re-Re Reno in charge of Justice to deflect any investigation.
Obama learned from Bill and put Loretta Lynch at Justice to perform the same role.
Don’t forget the leaking of the NYPD’s undercover radical mosque surveillance program by the FEDS to the NY Times. That had huge NatSec implications and has been ignored by the mainstream media. All of the individuals that the NYPD were preparing to round up, have gone “into the wind” since the program was disclosed and cancelled.
Except for a few reality shows on the History Channel (like American Pickers), I consider the History Channel as more the pseudo phony fake Liberal biased history re-write channel.

Yeah, that was covered as well. In fact, alot was made of the times the CIA wanted to get him and couldn’t get the OK from Clintoon.
