Big time kudos to the website for posting them all on one page instead of making you click through ten pages of ads.
Professional sporting events, ticket prices are outrageous.
Meanwhile, more than once this year we had an opportunity to go to the movies (had the time), but even with Marcus’ $5 Tuesdays, we couldn’t find something we were interested in.
We did, this year, buy two used cars. Which cost the same as two new cars just 10 years ago. Wow, have the price of cars, new and used, gone up.
The other problem is the last 10 years with no real raises. There is a culture issue with businesses and the current government environment. At least that might be changing with Trump.
They can’t afford them but they do them anyway. My sister makes $22k a year and her car payment is $450 a month and her cell phone is $300.
If you can’t afford a movie, you can’t afford a data plan for a phone.
I don’t care how much you make, you have to pay into your retirement as fully as you can and learn to live a lifestyle with what’s left over. I have purchased factory certified used cars the last two times around and it works out great- 1-2 year old car with all of the new car depreciation taken out. Even making $150K per year I was living paycheck to paycheck.

“10. Going to the movies”
I don’t care if you are middle close or below it, if you can’t go to the movies occasionally, you are living above your means. Good job putting yourself underwater.
Trucks are even worse. Trucks have gone up in price far more than cars.
