A response I received from the Salvation Army yesterday. It's a damn shame when a charity as good as the Salvation Army has to lie to people who have supported them for many decades. A damn shame. I'm donating through the Methodist charity named in Post 10. Thank you for that.

Thank you for contacting The Salvation Army's Online Donations Support team.

The decision by The Salvation Army in Palm Beach to cancel the event at Mar-a-Lago was not politically motivated. The Salvation Army's sole purpose is to help those most in need. This means families and individuals affected by poverty, homelessness, natural disasters, toxic behaviors, human trafficking, and much more. Fundraising events, such as the one we host in Palm Beach, seek to raise funds that allow us to provide the diversity of social services mentioned. The public conversation surrounding Mar-a-Lago has become politically charged, making the venue a distraction, shifting the focus away from the purpose of the event and our aim to fulfill our mission. The new location has not yet been decided, but will be coordinated by The Salvation Army of Palm Beach County. Again, thank you for reaching out and expressing your concerns. We wish you continued blessings, and we hope you continue to support your local Salvation Army and the programs they provide to your community.

Thank you and God bless,

The Salvation Army

.
Sad that they see the salvaging of America as a “distraction.”

Who knows what they consider worthwhile.
