Live local radio reports from eyewitnesses said that the helicopter began to spin uncontrollably, flipped upside down, and fell like a rock into a wooded area. The main part of the wreckage was engulfed in flames, and the tail section landed in some trees.

Some Freepers suggested that the description sounded like tail rotor failure, and that it is possible to take down a chopper by shooting it's tail rotor.

So what are the chances that some anti-police person shot at the tail rotor? They were out in force that day. And if that were the case, do you think it will be made public? Why haven't we heard about a cause for this crash?
