Tucker Carlson noted in his monologue that Bannon was the last person who came in believing in the campaign promises and watching out for the people who elected Trump. What’s left now would look just as comfortable in a Bush or a Clinton administration. I hope Donald can keep them at bay but for now it looks like the swamp has swallowed up the White House.
It seems to me that there’s an inherent conflict between affirming Donald Trump’s ultimate control of events and viewing Donald Trump as a hapless victim of ill luck and bad people. However, many seem perfectly comfortable with both these contentions.
