Reports: HR McMaster Entirely Safe as National Security Adviser…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 8/4/2017 | sundance

Posted on 08/04/2017 8:45:26 PM PDT by Signalman

After spending 72 hours looking specifically at the motives of those pushing almost identical paragraphs including the catchphrases: “holdovers”, “purging loyalists“, “unfettered access” and “Caroline Glick“; it comes as no surprise to hear the administration perceives the anti-McMasters crowd as having “jumped the shark”… “reached too far”, and “exposed their agenda” etc.

Ironically HR McMaster appears to be safer than ever in his position as National Security Adviser not specifically because of anything he has done, but as an actual outcome of the piranha approach taken by his detractors. The severity of his opposition’s group-think actually exposed the common denominator.

“General McMaster and I are working very well together. He is a good man and very pro–Israel. I am grateful for the work he continues to do serving our country.”

~ President Donald Trump, August 4th, 2017

R McMaster might not get the Afghanistan policy outcome he prefers, but his position as NSA appears safe; and we won’t have to go to war against Iran to appease his opposition. This looks like a genuine win/win/win. Bannon wins on Afghanistan policy; McMaster wins on Iran policy; America-First wins because we’re not going into another war in either Iran or North Korea. Perfect.

WASHINGTON […] John Kelly, Trump’s new chief of staff, has told McMaster he supports him remaining as national security adviser, Politico reported, citing two unnamed senior White House aides.

After Kelly started Monday, McMaster ousted Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the senior director for intelligence programs at the National Security Council, and the latest ally of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to be dismissed from the White House. (read more)

Also, the President weighed in directly in response to an inquiry from the New York Times:

President Trump defended Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster, his embattled national security adviser, on Friday in the face of a full-bore campaign by the nationalist wing of his political coalition accusing him of undermining the president’s agenda and calling for his dismissal.

General McMaster has angered the political right by pushing out several conservatives on the national security staff and cautioning against ripping up the nuclear agreement with Iran negotiated by President Barack Obama without a strategy for what comes next. His future has been in doubt amid speculation that Mr. Trump might send him to Afghanistan.

But after two days of unrelenting attacks on General McMaster by conservative activists and news sites, complete with the Twitter hashtag #FireMcMaster, the president weighed in to quash such talk. “General McMaster and I are working very well together,” he said in a statement emailed to The New York Times. “He is a good man and very pro–Israel. I am grateful for the work he continues to do serving our country.”

A senior White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to describe the president’s views, added that Mr. Trump has “total confidence” in his national security adviser. (read more)

McMaster is a McCain creature. You decide how "trustworthy" he is; especially what he has said about Israel and the dissing of Bibi.

I didn't mention Kelly and am still researching him.

Pay more attention and the scales will fall from your eyes...I hope.

“Beltway swamp careerists like McMaster “

It appears that some dimwits know nothing of McMaster’s role in the biggest tank battle since WWII.

I guess that explains why he was put on the promotion list while Dubya was still President.

>>If McMaster is not replaced, then Trumps Presidency is finished. The barbarians are still in control of the government.

I agree with this. DJT may not readily see this because he is so used to being surrounded by liberals.

There are plenty of capable patriots who would love to honestly serve this President. Tap Judicial Watch employees, American Center for Law and Justice, and the Christian and conservative colleges.

If DJT does not start bringing in good people, Deep State will win.

Not a chance. McMaster has been Deep State trouble from the start.

He was actually recommended to Trump by McCain. Yikes!

Actually word had it that Trump was looking at one point to give him his 4th star and kick him back to the Army as a way of getting rid of him—but the Army didn’t want him.

You’ve got it pretty much backwards—I don’t know how you could have come to such conclusions.

An attempted hit by a combined force of bitter Cruzbots and RNC neverTrumpers. Sounds about right to me.

Sad to see how many got sucked in by this scam.

These traitors are so freaking obvious. We shouldn’t even have to be debating it.

I know PDJT is accustomed to being surrounded by liberals, but IMO (worth .02, I know), he’d better wake up quickly and clean out his own House. Otherwise he will indeed be consumed, much to the delight of the criminally insane Marxist Waters.

I agree. That six months in he just let Kelly tighten the information noose around him as CoS is not a good sign at all. It is known that one of his weaknesses (we all have them) is being vulnerable to praise, but he really doesn’t seem to recognize the extent of the Deep State among his own appointees.

Trump is also known to react against the appearance that he is being pressured to act on something, and so his response to such a clear campaign to alert him to McMaster is also unfortunately to be expected. He reportedly hasn’t had good chemistry with McMaster (as opposed to Kelly), but Jared was a big McMaster booster from the start.

Yup. McMaster made his first three stars by supporting his boss, Obama.

McMaster's first star was awarded under W.

Army Secretary Pete Geren called Petraeus back from Afghanistan to make it happen. McMaster had already been passed over twice.

I beg to differ. In terms of press conference performance, Scaramucci dominated whereas Spicer was always on the defensive...In the 10-11 days Scaramucci was in charge, the media narrative was NOT Russia! And his tweets as it applied to the president’s agenda were on target too...The way he packages things were more effective. Period.

Look, I’m not EXCUSING Scaramucci’s phone call, but I don’t think it was a gaffe beyond recovery...and more than just Reince Priebus needs to be fired.

Leaks have only gotten worse.

Praying for a place Scaramucci can help Trump if not in the White House then in some other capacity.

And praying for a good replacement.
