They started teaching this crap when I was in high school and even before that. College is now absolutely saturated with it and youthful minds are as unaware of it as a fish is unaware of the water in which it swims.
This reminds me, you might enjoy the 2016 Coen Brothers movie “Hail, Caesar!” which spoofed, among other things, the Communist infiltration of Hollywood in the 1950s. Very enjoyable.

I lived through the change in Public schools circa 1968 - when the new crop of “teachers” came in.
The difference between the ones who’d lived through the depression and the 20-somethings was very noticeable.
We could also walk to elementary school back then because of the WWII era veterans who lived everywhere in the neighborhood and kept us safe.
