Refugees leaving Seoul on foot in Winter... not a pretty picture.

I don't think we have a few more months and I don't believe this press release is anything more than BS.

If you have Chia Head saying if we try to take him out he will nuke us, and our troops in Japan, why announce it? To give him time to set up aim for Japan?

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

One thing I am reasonably sure of is that there will be no orderly or predictable path to the resolution of this crisis. That includes a military action. It is quite likely that things won't be executed as planned.

As it stands now, nobody commits fully to resolve this crisis. A sudden turn of event could force players to act. Not at the time and the place they want, nor against a kind of problem they expected. That does not necessarily mean that it will lead to large scale destruction, but everybody could have their hands full for just catching up with the rapid turn of events.

Everybody is leery of uncertainty and trying their best to avoid it, but I suspect nobody can. On the other hand, doing nothing could also bring very dangerous situation. The problem has to be solved but there is no easy solution in any direction. People have been wasting a lot of time facing and accepting this reality.

No good solutions, perhaps just pick the one with the least collateral damage.

The Russians have also sent in troops into the far east region southwest of Vladivostok.

North Korean intelligence analyst attached to Unit 121 of the General Bureau of Reconnaissance of the Korean People's Army, in a recent memo to his boss:

"Comrade, I have analyzed the American imperialists' recent comments--this time by enemy General Dundford -- regarding striking our people's republic and conclude again as I have before (and you may kindly note reference in previous reports), that this continues to be nothing more than provocative talk and bluster, as all of our other KPA intelligence gathering units have detected no activity whatsoever of evacuation or even talk of evacuation by the imperialists of their non-combat civilian personnel such as businesspeople, tourists and other residents from the enemy south, nor any evacuation contingencies being put into action regarding imperialists non-military personal also residing in the puppet south. As we had determined in our table top exercises and war games this year at Amnokkgang University and also last year in Wonsan and Kaesong, for any American imperialist offensive action to proceed against the DPRK it is mandatory in the eyes of the military leadership of the imperialists to first move concretely and verifiably toward evacuating their nationals from the south or repositioning the puppet troops further away from the MDL. Hence, the current bluster again from the American side is to be best ignored."

(Simulation for educative purposes.)

So they will remain intent to only obliterate Mount McKinley, with no motivations beyond that, and shall go no further in their testing, right?

And what information do you utilize to come to this position?

If the U.S. does initiate a military option, we cannot stop until the norks are 'defeated in detail', a polite term for absolute total destruction of their military capability.

We cannot afford to be sucked in to the game of 'truce talks', bargaining or hoping that somehow diplomacy will work after a few weeks of bloodshed. This regime needs to be completely exterminated.
