My computer decided to sign me off in the middle of another long winded response. Needless to say you are some one I would love to argue history with over a good scotch. Our biggest point of contention seems to be our interpretation of late nineteenth century Germany. By the way, the comment about wanting to go to France before the barbarians took over was merely dark humor. The French have been the only western Europeans to “man up” in the GWOT, taking on ISIS an Al Quaida in places we haven't been asked to go. They have apparently done so without US prompting, which can't be said of any other NATO nation.

Make that Scotch Single Malt and you’re on.(Big Smile) I enjoy these kind of exchanges and abhor the ignorants who think it’s funny to constantly slam the French. History is fascinating when it is discussed intelligently. Unfortunately too few are interested in today’s push button world. I’ll be in France soon to enjoy late summer and autumn there. I love the country and its people and have always been treated well there...often simply because I’m an American.
