Clinton did nominate a Kimber Wood, attorney, for AG but she withdrew because she had an employee in her home who was undocumented and Kimber had not paid any SS taxes for her. At least that is what my memory tells me. Instead we were stuck with Janet Reno.

Janet (Waco) Reno was actually Bill Clinton’s third choice. His first choice was Zoë Baird, who had a foreign nanny and did not pay the taxes. He then nominated Kimba Wood, who also had a “Zoë Baird problem” with a foreign nanny.
After both Baird and Wood withdrew, he nominated Janet Reno.
I won twenty bucks from a co-worker when I gave him 5/1 odds that the third AG nominee would be a white woman. He thought it was easy money! I, OTOH, knew that Clinton was certain to choose a nominee that checked the same preference boxes as the two who had already been rejected.
