My Father took me to Birch Society meetings in 65-66.
That was exactly what they said when asked: MLK wasn't a Communist outright, but he was "pink", a sympathizer.
Turned out to be absolutely true and no one at the time would even breath such a thing.
The Civil Rights Act of '64 that Barry Goldwater and the JBS opposed has turned out to be every bad thing they warned about, first and foremost its un-Constitutionality.
The older I get the more the things they said come true.
JBS was dead on. Had we taken their path in '65 the entire world would be far better now. It took Reagan - a man they agreed with - to fix much of the disasters the Rat party inflicted on us between 1960 and 1980. But he couldn't do everything.
I must be stupid if what you say is correct. I always thought the Goldwater against civil rights was dumb. LBJ won the election and a year later the Great Society was born. Had Goldwater been for civil rights then maybe the republicans would have Won the White House and the Great Society would have not happened. What exactly is wrong with Constitutional Rights for all American Citizens?!
