Conservative author Ann Coulter fired a fury of tweets on Saturday evening condemning Delta Airlines after she claims she was forced to move from her pre-booked seat. Coulter's tweet storm included criticizing the airline's protocol, WiFi, and even shaming another customer by posting a photo of the passenger taking the author's seat.

They look like Albanian muslim thugs
She wasn't asking for special treatment. She was upset that the seat she paid extra for was taken away and given to another person. I'd be PO'd too. If I pay extra for a seat I expect the airline to keep its contract with me and ensure I get what I paid for.
I’d never fly Delta or United. And I work in the industry now. Jet Blue is my top pick.
United has Basic Economy too. Just found out when I was Booking a trip.
I don’t do Middle Seats, so I just paid the extra cost.
There used to be two classes, economy and premium. Now there is a “basic economy” of sorts that’s even lower, this just came out maybe a couple months ago, not all airlines do them. Think Spirit Airlines.
Alaska Airline IS good. Unfortunately their direct flights to the west coast are limited to two destinations.
How does Ann know the other passenger didn’t also pay extra for that seat and Delta just overbooked?
I don’t recall her being very sympathetic when united overbooked and dragged a guy off their plane.
Flying sucks period. It’s gotten where you have to pay extra, even on southwest, just to board earlier and sit together as a family.
Ann Coulter doesn't afford first class. If you spend all your money, because you have money, you soon won't. Working hard at spending money, makes the money you have, worth as much as double, the same amount would be worth in the hands of a big spender. Real Conservativism, starts in your own wallet first. I expect Delta will settle this with a few free trips.
I show affection & appreciation to the crew, always. This makes the flying experience much better
I hear you.
I will not fly anymore. If I can’t drive there, take a train or bus there, or sail there, I am not going.
I’m 66, and I used to love flying. That love affair ended several years ago, and there is no chance whatsoever of it ever being rekindled.
I’ve also been burned by thinking I would have more room in a bulkhead seat, and then a morbidly obese person sits in the middle seat, which is curious because more leg room does NOT equal more seat width!
It’s best the times I can pay full price for business or 1st, and at least control some aspects of my time in the air. It’s curious that Ann didn’t do that, but maybe it wasn’t available.
Delta and United have Basic Economy and I think AA is coming with it. Not on all routes just yet. It has created big time problems with people who don’t know what they are buying.
some’s girlfriend? there was a reason to unseat Ann. the fact that they chose not only to snatch her ticket, but deny her the courtesy of telling her why cannot help but make things worse.
had they bumped her so the family could sit together and told Ann this, she might have understood, but to not have the common sense of explaining things to the aggrieved, they only served to make a bad situation worse.
i’m inclined to believe that this woman was someone’s girlfriend. otherwise a reasonable explanation would have been offered.
Only time a us Airline offers anything close to customer service is on international flights.. Domestic they all suck and know it so don’t care. International they must compete with international airlines that actually offer service.
Ann, next time go Greyhound!
There are no good commercial airlines at this point. Its all greyhound bus land. If you want a stress free flight book executive jet. They send a limo to pick you up. You can bring your gun, gold coins etc No TSA, no check in, just step out of the limo and board the plane. Snacks and drinks provided. Limo at the other end takes you to your hotel. You and your spouse could fly Atlanta to NY for probably $3000 round trip. Why do you think rich people seem so happy? :-)
LOL!
For fans of The Office: Michael Scott throws his suit jacket on top of Meredith's head, completely covering her face, and says, "You are now sexy in your country."
I wouldn’t fly Delta, but I’m guessing that she had no choice.
I lived in CO for ten years... Great reference! :)
(The Donner party...and what a party it was. :( )
OMG, There is another Friends reference coming to mind. When Phoebe is discussing WWI. She said, "Back then, we called it the Great War....It really was." LOL!!!
Agreed.
