...There are 3 squadron of them at Tyndall and around a hundred F-35s at Eglin.
Both are nearby but I never see any....
St. Andrews State Park is on the west side of the Panama City Ship Channel. Not only will you see F-22s flying frequent missions that pass over the park, you’ll also see obsolete F-16s flying over that have been stripped down and retrofitted with remote control as drone targets to be shot down by the
F-22s out over the Gulf somewhere.
The F-16 drones have dayglow orange painted wingtips and nosecones.
I once saw a flight of 3 drones flying out to sea in formation followed about a minute later by two F-22s...
I don’t know how you are missing all the F-35s flying around Eglin. Especially over Ft. Walton and Destin.
I live NW of Tyndall and NE of Eglin.
My Father worked at Tyndall from around 1946 to 1956. He then worked nearly 30 years at Eglin. When we owned a farm a few miles SW of DeFuniak, I saw planes from Eglin all the time.
Sitting on the beach in Destin and sometimes like watching an airshow.
That’s good to know. I’ve got an afternoon activity for one day the next time we get down to 30A.
