I think WAPO just discovered content worth publishing...

“Rented a tent, rented a tent, rented a tent.” Drum roll in a Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., book. I think it was “Sirens of Titan,” but this scene took place on Mars. I think. Remember your oxygen pills, they were called “Goofballs.”

As an educated Economist, I've been trying to figure out how they are funding and monetizing this "Children on Mars" economic model. I think I have it figured out. All the clues are in the article.

The article points out that the atmosphere of Mars is composed primarily of CO₂. They also tell us that the average temperature on Mars is a balmy minus 81 degrees. The poles of Mars are just covered with free frozen CO₂, commonly called "Dry Ice," just waiting to be cut out, packaged and shipped out to be sold.

Dry Ice is sold in little freezers in the front of supermarkets to make cool looking drinks and keep other things cold, but nobody really knows for sure where it comes from. It's not cheap. Also, everybody knows that evil business people will, at the drop of a hat, exploit child labor when they are not prevented from doing so by ever vigilant government labor departments because the business people can employ gullible children at really low wages and feed them gruel.

So, since there is abundant free Dry Ice on Mars, back here there are lots of runaway kids—kids who won't be missed by a Laissez-faire Republican run Capitalistic society — kids who can be kidnapped and impressed into mining and working the CO₂ mines, processing and shipping plants on Mars, thus explaining the source of all those little packages of Dry Ice which is being sold in supermarkets all over America, we can safely say that we have identified the source of funding.

We can also state with certainty, it's TRUMP'S and BUSH'S fault!

There is one small problem area remaining to resolve. That is that the article mentions a time frame of 20 years which would place the onset of this program in Bill Clinton's administration. This clearly cannot be possible. Ergo, 20 years is obviously a typographical error. It must have been actually 30 years, placing the onset firmly in the Reagan administration. This allows us to realize that the entire Reagan "Star Wars" or Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) was a mere smoke screen for the development of the technology to implement this program at government expense! In other words, we have uncovered yet another clear scandal that can be laid at the feet of Ronnie Raygun!

It is equally obvious that a Congressional investigation at the bare minimum needs to be opened, if not a special counsel named to get to the bottom of this. I do think that the committee of Democrat Congressmen and Wymen who delve into this conspiracy should travel to the source of the Dry ice at the polar regions of Mars for extensive interviews of the poor abused child laborers to extract as much data as possible about when, where, and who was involved in their abductions. A suggestion for the Co-Chair Persons of this committee could be Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee and Rep. Maxine Waters.

A possible Special Counsel to direct the investigation would be California Senator Kamala Harris, who would of course have to resign her seat to concentrate on her special counsel duties.
