They’ll be embedded in our palms and foreheads
(few seconds of awkward silence)
IT’S IN REVELATIONS PEOPLE!
Won’t need them, after the oceans rise to 300ft above the current level (in 5 months) there will only 3 people left on the planet and they will all be gay therefore not able(willing) to propagate the race.
Full sized ‘virtual’ keyboards.
Laser or sound used to map a projected keyboard.
Probably coverage would be by heli-drones instead of towers.
Current smart phones do more than I would have ever expected. The evolution is impressive.
But, probably faster, more memory, higher resolution screens, all linked to a faster network. More standardization of apps so that IOT devices can talk and be controlled from your phone.
They need to do something about the terrible keyboards. Voice recognition helps.
Smart phones will never take over the PC/workstation/laptop market unless they can improve the UI so a college student can type a 500 page thesis paper as easily as a desk top or lap top.
They will cut out the middleman and report all of your words, locations and activities directly to the authorities and advertisers.
The one-finger-up will be a universal sign I’m looking at something else. Suspended aqueous humor lithium screen. I paid extra for the left-side version, now why is that??
Look for heads-up display inside of google-like vid/pic glasses with speakers. A laser will project the keyboard on any flat surface if you don’t want voice. Voice apps will become fare better. The future of apps is unlimited.
Implants. I had the Internet wired directly into my cerebral cortex as part of my project to take over the world. Then I found out that you can’t take over the world with cat pictures and porn. I want my dang money back but Verizon says I gotta wait two years or pay them a penalty fee.
In the first 20 years, they added a camera and a computer. If Jobs hadn’t hired a bunch of limp-wrist liberals, I’d expect a derringer or at least a stun gun long before 2027.
The person to person payment thing is already here. Just got an email from Bank of America that they have made it “easier than ever!”
I think that cell phones will be physically tougher with flexing cases and truly water-proof. With induction charging and bluetooth earphones there are fewer and fewer reasons to have any sort of physical port.
The ability to send a file, photo, song or whatever from one phone to another will get easier and universal. Apple’s AirDrop is a good start, but it needs to be more user friendly.
At some point we are going to blend in bio-enhancement. Having augmented storage accessible by thoughts built into us has many positives, as well as being able to “think” into the internet. Education will go from being just collecting and memorizing facts to learning creativity and specific skills.
One thing is for certain, the future holds many surprises and wonders.
My bank is already plugging that for its mobile app. I've used it to give money to my deadbeat sister-in-law. :D
Kaiser, health for a couple of years has had patients send photos of bug bites, animal bites, cuts/abrasions and topical skin problems to their doctors with apparently good results.
We have heard of cardiac and chemo patients being monitored via the patients smart phones or home computers .
There is a constant downside. A couple, we have been friends with for decades got new mds. Both Mds sat at their computers and never touched their patients nor used a stethoscope to check out their patients. They were both impressed until my wife, a lifetime Office RN asked them why they even bothered to go to the office if the only thing the doctors did was enter data on their computer based on pre set questions.
A few months later, the guy had chest pains and went to the local Kaiser clinic. His new doc was not there. His old semi retired doc was there and used his stethoscope. Then, he save our friend’s life.
The old doc had the nurse call a local ambulance and get our friend admitted to their cath lab. That move without a computer saved our friend’s life.
I figure my flip phone should be good for another 10 years.
I predict they will be twice as powerful in the future.
Rotary dial and party lines.........
Control your car. Plug it in as a key. Driving habits and dash cam control.
And you ask:
Okay, so what are your ideas of what cell phones will be like in 2027?
I don't know, but I am sure smug jerks like you will still laugh at people outside your bubble who don't have the latest fashionable tech accessory.
Will we even still be around by then?
