I know almost zilch about volcanos - but I would think giving off a little steam can reduce pressure and that would be good?

Are you suggesting drilling holes all over Yellowstone, to help relieve the volcanic pressure building under the crust?
I think I read somewhere that the deepest we have ever drilled is not even a fraction of the depth needed to accomplish this.
Drilling through the earth’s crust is something we have not been very successful at.
