There are many states in which a property crime (being in your home (property)) allows you to kill that person.
Agreed, and there is also one state (Texas) with a law on the books allowing one to use deadly force against someone who is "fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime" to prevent them "from escaping with the property." But only in Texas, and only during the nighttime.
Running someone down in a parking lot is not in your home, and this did not occur in Texas at night.
