I thank them. They did the right thing.

Also it kind of begs the question as to why they’re in the clink in the first place? The article noted minor drug offenses and probation violations. Why are we wasting jail space and resources on nonviolent offenders who could be dealt with otherwise? They could be out working and earning a living rather than learning better crime skills on the taxpayers dime.

I'm with you man. We need some serious prison reform in this country. We have too many people in prison for B.S. crimes that could be out there working as productive members of society. Privately run prisons should be outlawed as they have no inclination to reform anyone. Each prisoner is just a pay check to them.

Angola is actually a model prison. It's state run and they really do work to reform reformable prisoners so they can get out and get a job and become a part of the community again.

On another note, we need mental health reform but that is a whole other issue.
