Boys at a British high school have found a novel way around strict uniform rules banning shorts, as the country swelters through a heatwave. The schoolboys at Isca Academy in the southwestern city of Exeter donned skirts instead of the officially mandated gray slacks. Photos in British media show the boys wearing short-sleeved white shirts, school ties and the gray and white plaid skirts that the girls wear. Devon County Council spokesman David Beasley said about 30 boys turned up to school in skirts on Thursday, when temperatures dropped to a cool 20 degrees Celsius (68F) after days of much hotter weather. On the other - With all these "ooh, it's hot in the summer" headlines, apparently it's never gotten above 75 degrees in Europe in the entire history of the world.

Any Scots offended?
It was 93°F at Heathrow Airport.
The muslim invaders will enjoy the British schoolboys in skirts.
Rugged, lghtweight cotton kilts with snaps -- and lotsa pockets!
Love mine! Sure beats 7+yards of heavy wool Clan Macpherson tartan wrapped around ma fanny in these hot Texas summers!
I wonder if any got sent home because their hems were too far above the knee.
Craigh Dubh!!!

Yup. And a lack of fans as well. Better pack a portable AC unit. 220 of course with a myriad of adapters. ;-)
Scots are always offended, it’s in their blood.
This situation seems ripe for a comment from Prince Phillip.
Kilts are a holdover from way back in time when men wore skirts and women wore trousers. In the Bible, it mentions about men getting ready to fight who would gird up their loins - wrap a belt between their legs to hold up the cloth so they could move easier.
