During Bill's sexcapades, they dug up old records of Sally Hemmings from two CENTURIES ago and pronounced Thomas Jefferson guilty of fathering her multiple children. Never mind that Jefferson was a widower at the time and IF he did it, he was far more discreet about it than Bill. The resulting meme was that if it didn't matter in 1797, then it shouldn't matter in 1997?
Fast forward to the Trump video and the obvious result was that if crude ACTIONS in 1997 didn't matter, then why should crude TALK matter in 2007.
Yes, lowering the standards certainly helped Trump in terms of that recording. I don’t let Hillary or Obama off the hook, though; things had gotten so bad that people would’ve voted for ANYONE who at least acknowledged that this country (and most of its people) has serious financial problems.
I believe much of this theater about Russia, obstruction, etc. is for posterity; libs 100 years from now will have to explain why the Greatest President Ever Born (Obama) was followed by the devil himself - and they will also have to explain how that devil beat the Smartest Woman Ever Born. I expect within a decade or two it will be widely accepted that Trump stole this election, despite no evidence at all to support that.
