From what I heard that went on at the trial I doubted they would convict.
The accuser didn’t report anything to LE for a year. She continued, well beyond that, to have a voluntary relationship with Cosby meeting with him numerous times. I can tell you this: If someone mugs me or burgles my house or steals my car: #1, I’m not waitin a year to report it and #2, I am not going to have an ongoing relationship with the perp, except for beatin his ass!
At least 50-50 she was lookin for money.
But, of course, since the accuser’s a woman normal rules don’t apply.

If I'm on a jury, if a woman has continued a relationship with a man after a supposed "sexual assault", then that undermines her accusation.
Being a woman, if that happened to me, I would be with my Attorney, the Police at the ER demanding a ‘rape kit’ test and on from there...
I have followed this and I think there was ‘money bags’ involved, kinda like the ‘Hockey Team’ situation...turns out she was a ‘prostitute’ and they were let off...
I have my doubts about this too, for the reasons you gave.
A wise comment
At the trial the defense also showed phone logs of 53 phone calls from the accuser to Cosby after the event in question, one of which was 49 minutes long. The defense pointed out that this is the behavior of a lover not someone who was assaulted.
I always got the impression that charging Cosby with a crime was more important than being able to actually prove in a court of law that he committed one. At any rate, "Cosby the rapist" will be his legacy.
