For two hours on Monday, Bill Cosby’s attorney — flipping between stage-whispered intimacy and ear-splitting verbal explosions — ran through a long list of possible culprits he said are responsible for landing his client at the center of one of the most high-profile criminal cases in recent American history.
“This ain’t right!” bellowed Cosby attorney Brian McMonagle in his closing argument. Earlier in the day, he had raced through a startlingly brief, six-minute defense, bringing to a close testimony in the sexual-assault case against the famed comedian.

About 20 years ago, we had a civilian counsel who lived in the area who did a lot of court-martial cases on Fort Hood. That was his trademark closing argument, in an extremely broad and brash Texas accent, although his was a little more "good ol' boy" ...
"I tell ya, Yer Honor, tain't fair ... it just tain't fair!"
As long as he a mostly black jury it might work. One of the under reported issue of our age is how black juries let black defendants walk all day long because the system is racist.
I think you have the general gist of it. The one I referred to worked at Temple U and she sued him civilly, there was an undisclosed settlement and his deposition from that suit was sealed. The AP sued to have the deposition opened and that is where this whole trial came from. There also is a new DA in the county who used the promise of a criminal case against Cosby as campaign fodder.
Jury selection was done in Pittsburgh.

I had a Cosby album in the ‘60s, too. His routine about Noah was hilarious: “What’s a cubit?” The whole album was funny but I don’t remember specifics.
I had that too.... money and fame corrupts! So sad!
As a kid, I had most of his albums. I memorized them all not by trying to, but by listening (and laughing) to them over and over and over ...

All it takes is one juror, and since some of them are black, odds are he walks for no reason other than race.

I read they had phone conversation for about a year after the alleged rape. Calls last between 30 to 45 minutes. She went to the police when the calls stopped, if so, sounds like she got dumped and wanted revenge.
