Some people are transgender because they are truly not XX or XY. Some are because their mothers had screwed up hormones during pregnancy so have indeterminate genitals or ones that don't match their chromosomes. Some are mentally ill.

I believe the last far outnumber the first two, but modern political correctness denies it and a lot of people who could be treated effectively are denied treatment.

Imagine if eyeglasses were denied to children because squint-Americans demanded the world be bent to their disability.

Any physiological component of transgenderism raised as a defense is a red herring. Virtually ALL of these comfused people who “transition” have no physiological or genetic ambiguity regarding their sex. Indeed, absolutely none is required to be “diagnosed,” only the collusion of a whacked out shrink.
