While you are working on my request for you to get an actual photo of the earth from outer space...

Can you also provide us with an actual photo of a satellite or the ISS from earth?

Since anyone with a cheap Nikon can get focus on the moon (at what, 233K miles away?) let’s see a photo of an actual satellite.

I mean, we’ve been told there is “so much space junk” up there... where are the photos, from earth, from everyday people with cheap Nikons, of a satellite?

Here is the moon, in perfect focus, using a Nikon coolpix consumer camera:

But there are no non-CGI non-composite photos of working satellites?

How weird is that?

So as you are doing your homework on getting an actual photo from outer space of the earth, please add a real photo of a satellite taken from earth as your extra credit.

And really, Lord bless you and lead you to all truth; as we are asked to “test all things” and “prove all things” for His glory...

Taking a photo of something the size of a refrigerator from 200+ to 22,500 miles away would require one hell of a lens.

As a fellow Christian and Bible believer -- as well as a retired physical scientist, I had hoped that you have sufficient intellect and education -- as well as sense of proportion and perspective -- to allow a rational conversation. Obviously, that is not the case.

Your inability to distinguish between "focusing on" a huge object like the moon -- versus a tiny object like a satellite -- is a nearly-insurmountable barrier to rational communication -- in this case, between fellow believers.

The ISS is ~295 feet long -- compared to a Boeing 747-8I's wingspan of ~245 feet. Can you see a 747 at its 35,000 foot cruising altitude? Not without binoculars.

35,000 feet is a mere 6.63 miles -- yet the ISS orbits at an altitude (distance) of 186 miles. Can you see a 747 at 186 miles away? No. Neither can you see the ISS at that distance (without a telescope) Yet, you can see the Moon at well over a thousand times that distance -- 238,000 miles (on average) -- with your God-created, unaided eyeball.

You asked, "Can you also provide us with an actual photo of a satellite or the ISS from earth?"

The answer is here: https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap090116.html. And,here's the image:

And here is the description of the image -- and how it was taken -- by a citizen, using a "small telescope":

Explanation: Remarkable details are visible in this view of the orbiting International Space Station (ISS), recorded with a small telescope on planet Earth through a clear twilight sky. Seen on December 27th at about 75 degrees elevation and some 350 kilometers above the planet's surface, parts of the station, including the Kibo and Columbus science modules, even seem to reflect the Earth's lovely bluish colors. The image also shows off large power generating solar arrays on the station's 90 meter long integrated truss structure Just put your cursor over the picture to identify some of the major parts of the ISS.

Of course, you will have to click on the above link to get the "mouseover details" -- if you have the intellectual honesty to prove yourself abysmally, ignorantly wrong...

And, your description of satellites and "space junk" a floating reveals total ignorance of the orbital mechanics that keep satellites in orbit.

~~~~~~~~~~
Frankly, as a Christian, I am appalled at having my witness degraded and diluted by having "Christians" like you parading ignorance and false distortions of physical facts -- and claiming to do so in the name of Christianity.
FRiend, You should think and pray long and hard about the damage you are doing to the Name of the One you so ignorantly and self-centeredly misrepresent!
Since you're apparently hung up on the Moon and artificial satellites, here's a photo (taken from Earth) of the ISS transiting (at a distance of 186 miles) between the earth and the Moon (at 238,000 miles distance):
And... here is the "blow-up" of a "cropped section" showing structural details of the ISS and the Moon:
Any further sarcastic and silly questions?
