I don’t know why they wear kits at all. What’s wrong with uniforms?
This is a big pet peeve of mine. American sports reporters inisist on showing what hipsters they are when talking about soccer by using British terms like kit, pitch, and nil instead of the American words uniform, field, and zero. Those aren’t soccer terms boys and girls, they’re British terms and pitch was borrowed from cricket. When Spanish speaking reporters describe the outcome of a game they don’t say nil, they day cero, which means zero. I find this practice very annoying.
