You have to put the pill way back in his mouth and gently rub his throat until he swallows. Then, after he spits out the pill, try again.

Mine is supposed to be taking meds this week and knows if pills have been hidden in food. It’s impossible to unclench her teeth to shove it in.

That always worked for me. Stick the pill at the back of his tongue and rub his throat. My dogs were not biters at all, by the way.
