That’s a very fair point, and it’s the only explanation that I can come up with for the statements they have been making. It’s not that they don’t want to know the truth nor that they don’t want someone caught, just that if they feel this was not a hit but just street violence, they don’t want to have to endure the endless antics of a media that can be awfully intrusive and insensitive.
However, this is not a private even. When people are charged with murder the charges are brought by the state or a presiding legal jurisdiction because the people have the right to have crimes punished, regardless of how the victim or family feel about it. It is different than a civil or private affair.
Even the killer (or assassin) cannot be found and charged, the people at least have the right to know if Seth Rich was involved in the leaking or transmission of DNC information. The Rich family do not have the right to suppress the pursuit of truth in this matter.
