They would take a working code to the closest available hospital. Once stabilized, if possible, then they would move to a trauma facility, if it met criteria. I think Level I trauma takes burns as well as “standard” trauma fare.

It wasn’t a “code” he was conscious by accounts we have seen. I have described cases elsewhere in which I KNOW that ambulances did not go to the very closest hospital (though still within a 2-3 mile radius), and what I know to be ambulance protocol in another, larger American city: they take severe wounds and traumas to a particular hospital ER which is NOT necessarily the very closest one.

You do not sound as though you “know” which hospital ER treated Seth Rich. If you do know, with certain genuine knowledge, please tell us to end this discussion. But just saying what you imagine they would/should have done is simply your speculation. I have actually followed an ambulance (with a dying family member inside) to a hospital which was not the “closest available” (though only a mile further, and they had reasons to go there as I learned later).
