re: sloppy hit job
Thats one thing that makes conspiracy theories look dubious, this was a shaky, unreliable way to off someone (he might have survived, and/or he might have talked to EMS/Police/hospital staff as long as he was still alive) not a professional job at all. Even if someone wanted to make it appear to be other than a professional job, they would surely guarantee that he stopped breathing quickly (bullet in the heart or head), even if they made the crime scene look sloppy so it would not appear to be a pro involved.

Interesting. What if the real assasination was occur within a nearby local PRIVATE hospital with after the botched robbery and shooting?
Then, you could sell the robbery angle more plausibly.
Well lots of scenarios can be imagined, but if professionals were involved that would be a very strange way to proceed. They could not know which of several DC hospitals would receive the wounded Seth Rich, so how could “they” possibly guarantee that a follow-up assassination would occur quickly at a hospital? Seems like a very chancy, unreliable way to pursue such a matter. In real life, not the movies, I find it difficult to believe that any “pro” would count on getting a 2nd chance at the target in a short time frame, especially since an ambulance could take the victim to one of quite a number of hospitals (not automatically the closest one, may depend upon protocols for a particular ambulance service and also patient loads at the ERs).
For instance, a friend of mine is an ER doc in another large metro area, downtown. Even though their hospital is a large and famous institution, they often do NOT receive nearby gunshot victims because there is a “Level I Trauma Center” hospital just a couple of miles further away. I doubt that potential assassins could count on which hospital would receive the wounded victim, and anyway, really, why would they go to such lengths not to do the job the first time??? This is not a movie, it’s real life.

Perhaps it wasn't a “pro”, but another person indebted to the DNC?
Kind of like in the movies where the gangsters tell the new guy to kill someone to show they are loyal.. . several other scenarios would fit the nonprofessional hit.
