Two comments.

1st, Hitler had strong ties with Islamists and raised an Islamic division in the Balkans. He was politically friendly with the Mufti of Jerusalem, who was Yassir Arafat’s “uncle”. “Godfather” might be a more appropriate term. A worthwhile site on this topic:

2nd, I am reminded of a Friedrich Hayek quote from The Road to Serfdom regarding the similarity of Nazis and Communists in the 1930s. The similarity of Nazis and Islamists could be viewed, well, similarly. For anyone interested, the quote is on my FR profile page, the 3rd one down, two paragraphs.
