Astounding new footage shows a sea lion grabbing a little girl off a dock and pulling her underwater.
The kid was feeding the male sea mammal bread crumbs near the water near Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday, but when she sat down on the edge of the jetty, the huge creature tried to make a meal out of her grabbing her dress in its jaws and dragging her into the water.

Enough to make an atheist a believer.
That was very heroic of the guy to react that quickly. He likely saved her life.
Not a good idea to feed sea lion bulls.
However, I have had great times swimming with sea lions in the Pacific. They are very playful, but on land when a bull is protecting his harem, they can be aggressive.
That is a huge wild animal with unpredictable behavior.
Feeding it was the first mistake. Coaxing it out of the water, the 2nd.
The total stupidity of some folks just never ceases to amaze me.
Thank God that little girl and the guy that saved her are ok.
Who would have thought? Feeding a 500 pound carnivore close up could lead to trouble? What if it was just a plain “lion” and not a “sea lion?”
Those people are absolute idiots.
First feeding the sea lion, and once the sea lion came out of the water, they let the little girl sit on the edge of the pier.
Cuddly cute fuzzy sea lion, who in days gone by attacked commercial fishermens’ nets - ripping the fish out and leaving pieces, and thus receive a load of double ought buck saving lives and livelihoods.
I worked on an albacore boat one summer. I could not believe how much the captain loathed sea lions. Told me not to even think of tossing them anchovies (we had two tanks full of them). As far as he was concerned the only good sea lion was a dead one.
Yes people the wild in wild animal means something. Who didn’t see that coming?

Looks like the family ran off without thanking the rescue man. Pretty scary for them, though.
But see how cute it looked?
That little girl came very close to being torn apart. Lucky she was moving away and the sea loin only got her dress.
THANK YOU for sharing that. My daughter and I watched it a few times. She will THINK VERY HARD before feeding a seal. We love seals. We can love them from a proper distance.
He was right.
I guess there is a reason they call them ‘lions’ . . . heh?
