I want to be careful how to say this. But I feel that most men really don’t want these “feminist” type women.
Men don’t want to have a woman who is so into her high powered professional career, that family life plays 2nd fiddle in their lives.
Men don’t want a woman who is in competition with them in the career struggle.
Men do greatly appreciate a woman who can take care of everything on the home front, while he brings home the bacon.
Men do want a woman who will comfort them. Men want a woman who wants to be a good mother, and works as hard at being a mother as she does at a paying job.
And men on this site, who are predominantly on the conservative side socially and politically, do not want a liberal wife.
I’m just generalizing here. Of course we can find examples of men who are happy with their wives as part of a power couple. I just don’t think that this is how most men are. I know lots of men, and have discussed a lot of these issues over the years with them. Some of the men are more liberal politically, so some of what I mention here applies to even liberal men.
You are sooo right...and I’m a single woman who has heard many a men state such as you’ve written. And frankly most women don’t like “feminist” women either.
Unfortunately they’ve amassed a cult following for many years and seem to have ‘the same faces’ drumming their drums few care to hear today as they are out of date
I’ll not forget the recent women’s march when a couple young women wanted to know who the speaker was...(Madonna)..and her friend told her it was just some “old women dressed like a teenager”..lolololol..
I think you stated that very well. Obviously there are women on this site, and people with good daughters they’d like to get married to good men...but there isn’t much we can do to help them, other than remind them that 99.9% of the country has no idea what FreeRepublic is, so there’s a big universe out there for them...although, in fairness, the issues with American women extend well beyond the people on this site.
I run a tight ship so my overworked husband can come home to a clean, peace-filled house and enjoy his adoring children. I love my part in making life better for him, his clients, and our children. The only people who have ever tried to shame me for my choices or make me feel inadequate were feminists.
I think feminism should be about showcasing the strengths of women, but it has always seemed to me that feminism was about being men and replacing men. sigh
