Lying is right.

I know someone who got a DNA analysis through Ancestry. He immediately got an email from a woman who said she was his first cousin. He asked all his uncles about it and no one admitted to being the father.

I got a similar though somewhat different experience. I did the DNA thing and found that I am an exact match with a family that lived a county over, in England, 400 years ago.

I has been known, in my family, that there were left handed relationships, as in stand up before the Parish and admit this base born child as yours. I joined an English genealogy group of very distant relations that confirms some of these.

It seems that my families merchant wanderings led to some unexpected surprises.

approx. 25% of children born in US have a biological father different than the legal father listed on their birth certifcate
