There are 400,000 people in New Orleans, and there may have been 2000 people at the protest, of which 75% did not live in New Orleans.
For the most part, people in New Orleans do not care that the monuments are being removed.

In the discussion, I was accused of lying about White Power and Klan being at the Lee Circle protest. Upon that, I posted pictures of protesters wearing White Power and KKK logos who were at the protest and proved that those groups were protesting the removal of the Confederate monuments.
Moreover, I stated that I elected not to stand alongside the people representing White Power and Klan.
Refusing to stand alongside the Klan does not make one a leftist, it instead shows that one is a conservative.
Well yes, if you become a traitor to your country by supporting a rebellion and insurrection against it, that tends to overshadow anything else you did previously to that.
Or maybe its time for some Klan apologists to ride the lightening....are you feeling lucky today?
Despite the obvious truth, the American people will never accept the fact that the “Nazis were leftists.”
They didn’t believe themselves to be traitors. They believed their loyalty was to their State first. I don’t recall any law being in place that would label them traitors if they seceded from the Union. The rebellion began when Lincoln refused to let them secede without a fight. Lincoln wanted the Union to remain intact, no matter what it took...even war. Frankly, I can understand both sides of the conflict, but I’ve always said, that if I was faced with taking sides in a similar Civil War today, seeing what has happened to this country since 1865, I’d be more apt to support the South this time around.
