Comey was the firewall for their shenanigans. They were only unhappy with him because he did an imperfect job of it. They never meant for him to be replaced by an honest cop. Thus the uproar.

Comey was probably a key leaker so the Washington Post will be responsible for making up all the anonymous source leaks in their stories versus getting some leaks from Comey. Where are we at on the leaker investigation anyway?
