I skim read the main points down to where Jesus told John that Mary was now his mother and, therefore, Jesus gave Mary to the church. Wouldn’t that have been so if Peter had been given Mary as his mother? As I said, I didn’t read the details. Give me a couple of hours as I check out the references in my NASB.

I think you may be missing the point. The Son of Man/Son of God was and is, and ever will be, the Son of the Father. A father can not become a father without a mother. "God's Holy Angel Declared Unto Mary" - . Holy Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
