My friend is from Jordan, his father has a heart condition and needs open heart surgery. The hospital has a PRICE Menu on the wall.
Broken arm $150.00
on and on
Open Heart Surgery $16,000
All paid up front
All hospitals do the same and are competitive on pricing
Thnaks. I happened to talk yesterday with a friend from Romania. He says private hospital do the same there. They have a menu with the prices. All money is paid up front. These prices are bargains as compared to what hospitals charge in the US.

That needs to happen here, posted on the internet. As well as an outright ban on "cost shifting".
These are major national provider reforms, hopefully imposed by Tom Price, piloting the DHHS.
Menu pricing required.
No Federal regulations, only State insurance and healthcare regulation.
Consumer based insurance plans.
Individual states to determine safety net for low income and uninsurable (high risk pools)
Jordan is light years ahead of the US in this respect.
So does the service bay at my Ford dealership........
