You're welcome. I grew up Christian in a half-Jewish neighborhood. Yiddish was the second language around there in the 50s. Most of the Jewish kids' parents spoke it at home. I hate to see it fading out — it is a wonderfully expressive language.

American English has appropriated many terms from Yiddish, such as schlep (to tote something or trek someplace laboriously), chutzpah (brazen arrogance), glitch (a mistake or snag that slows things down), klutz (a clumsy person), schlong (either the male sex organ; or as a verb, to overcome or to beat someone in sports, business, etc), and many others.
