Well I likewise consider myself part of Trump’s base.
(I decided he was the guy, even before he announced his candidacy.)
I have been with him, since the very beginning.
He could lose me, if he backs off on this.
This is serious.
Nothing except global trade, is as important.
IMHO, the most important issue at this time is taking more power from the Dems in the mid-term elections and the second most important issue is taking more power from the Dems in the 2020 election and getting Trump a second term so we can continue to dominate the supreme court. That’s our path to restoring America. So Trump needs to choose his battles wisely. The Dems are seriously wounded and they’re dangerous. we need to finish them. That’s all that matters to me.
so you’d rather win this battle (start the wall) but risk losing the war? (FULL wall/security at the border, maybe even a northern border or increased airport/all ports of entry security upgrades to stop illegals)?
I’d rather construction stared Jan 22, 2017, but I’d also rather we get wall construction happening within the year than not at all.
